Outdoor Media Market Overview
Outdoor media companies are always looking for new ways to grow their businesses, generate additional revenues from their prime locations, and minimize the objections raised by environmentalists and other regulatory bodies. Advertising technology has developed slowly, moving from paper to vinyl, from a single face to tri-visions, and now to LEDs. The transition to LED technology has been slow and expensive and has been met with heavy resistance. While LED technology has the advantage of being bright and dominant, its disadvantages have limited the technology’s expansion as an "optimal" solution for the outdoor media sector. Until recently, LED technology has been the only digital technology available to outdoor media companies that chose to "go digital" and enable remote copy change. Magink's solution
Magink has spent years perfecting its outdoor media solution. During these years Magink has installed and tested displays throughout the world in many different locations. In 2007, Magink finalized the design on its new "3rd-generation" technology and display unit for the outdoor media market. The new billboard solution is based on a 9 mm pixel pitch with a single-color solid pixel. We also fine-tuned our reflective liquid crystal displays and redesigned our modules’ inner structure and framing. All these changes have resulted in a display that offers an excellent viewing experience with improved color and brightness together with a simplified build structure.
